Sweden is one of the countries in the world that is most dependent on its vehicle industry, an industry with importance for employment, export revenue, development, research, and dissemination of knowledge.

SEK 150 billion is the export value of the Swedish automotive industry. This figure correspons to 12 percent of the country's total export and was the single largest industry. Sweden is therewith one of the countries in the worl that is most dependent on its automotive industry for employment and export revenues.
From an international perspective Sweden is unique with four* manufacturers that carry on both manufacturing and development. Rwo of the worlds largest manufacturers of heavy vehicles, Volvo Trucks and Scania, are based in the country along with Volvo Car and Saab Automobile*
